What ingredients is in the glue used for the Saunas?Updated 9 hours ago
The adhesive used in the construction of our saunas has been independently tested and meets relevant safety standards. The test results indicate the following characteristics:
- pH Value: 4.29
- Non-volatile Matter: 19.95%
- Viscosity: 67.8 Pa·s
- Free Formaldehyde: 0.3899 g/kg
- Benzene: Not Detected (ND)
- Toluene + Xylene: Not Detected (ND)
It is important to note that the glue is used only for bonding the timber boards and is not applied to the interior surfaces of the sauna. The timber itself contains no added formaldehyde, and the sauna is manufactured using low-VOC materials.
The tested formaldehyde content in the adhesive is very low and is limited to the bonding agent used during manufacturing. Additionally, testing confirmed that benzene, toluene, and xylene were not detected, helping to minimise concerns regarding harmful chemical emissions.
Please note: As with most engineered timber products, a small amount of adhesive is required during manufacturing to ensure structural integrity and secure attachment of components. Any natural wood scent present in a new sauna comes from the timber itself and not from chemical treatments.
