Are there any engineered wood products used in the sauna, such as MDF or plywood?Updated 19 hours ago
No. Our saunas are constructed using solid timber components and do not contain MDF (Medium-Density Fibreboard), plywood, particleboard, or other engineered wood products within the sauna structure.
The timber used is:
- Indoor saunas: Non-toxic Hemlock wood.
- Outdoor saunas (darker-coloured models): Thermally modified Spruce Thermowood (Exterior) for enhanced durability and weather resistance, with Natural Spruce Wood (Interior).
- Outdoor saunas (lighter-coloured models): Natural Spruce Wood (Exterior and Interior).
There are no plywood, MDF, particleboard, or similar engineered wood panels used in the manufacturing of the sauna rooms. This helps ensure a natural timber construction with no added formaldehyde-containing engineered wood products in the sauna structure.
Please note that a small amount of adhesive is used only to bond certain timber boards during manufacturing. This adhesive has been independently tested and contains very low free formaldehyde levels (0.3899 g/kg), with no detectable benzene, toluene, or xylene. The timber itself contains no added formaldehyde and is not chemically treated.
