No. Our saunas are constructed using solid timber components and do not contain MDF (Medium-Density Fibreboard), plywood, particleboard, or other engineered wood products within the sauna structure.

The timber used is:

• Indoor saunas: Non-toxic Hemlock wood.
• Outdoor saunas (darker-coloured models): Thermally modified Spruce Thermowood (Exterior) for enhanced durability and weather resistance, with Natural Spruce Wood (Interior).
• Outdoor saunas (lighter-coloured models): Natural Spruce Wood (Exterior and Interior).

There are no plywood, MDF, particleboard, or similar engineered wood panels used in the manufacturing of the sauna rooms. This helps ensure a natural timber construction with no added formaldehyde-containing engineered wood products in the sauna structure.

Please note that a small amount of adhesive is used only to bond certain timber boards during manufacturing. This adhesive has been independently tested and contains very low free formaldehyde levels (0.3899 g/kg), with no detectable benzene, toluene, or xylene. The timber itself contains no added formaldehyde and is not chemically treated.
